From 28,000-25,000 BCE, there were numerous achievements and finds originating from this time period that helped to shape the evolution of the world and early humans. Throughout this space in time, the first signs of astronomy and mathematics can be observed.

In 28,000 BCE, the first indication of astronomy was found at a site within France, when a sketch depicting a record of the different phases of the Moon was uncovered. The sketch was carved into a piece of bone.

Communication progressed during this time when a variety of musical instruments were found across France, Russia, as well as other locations throughout Europe. Researchers found flutes and whistles that were fashioned from the bones of bears and birds, as well as the antlers of reindeer. This is considered to be the earliest known identified musical instrument. When visually communicating with one another, humans begin to wear bracelets, beads and pendants. It is also believed during this time that in France, humans carved and engraved various sexual body parts.

Additional achievements specific to this time include the discovery of some of the earliest fired ceramics. These specimens are uncovered in the Czech Republic. Some of the ceramics displayed some of the predators that humans faced during this time. The humans during this time now move into new digs created from the bone of mammoths. Hailing from the Gravettian culture, sites throughout the Czech Republic indicate that humans lived in huts.

By 26,000 BCE, housing needs and solutions seem to evolve with the discovery of more advanced living areas with hearths, postholes and slabs. It is assumed that these finds show that living arrangements have upgraded a bit or that humans at this time were creating storage facilities. These valuable pieces of information were located on the Perigordian sites within the southwestern part of France. Throughout Europe, a new kind of tool is found, which is a single-backed point.

A hint of geometry was found during 25,000 BCE when artifacts feature rudimentary geometrical designs. On cave paintings dating back to this time period, it is believed that the concept of music appears to make its mark. Footprints and carved instruments made from bone are found within caves. The footprints are thought to be those of dancers. If you thought that Australia is where the boomerang first originated from, you can think again. It is then when the first evidence of a boomerang is discovered in the area that is now known as Poland. This is 13,000 years earlier than the first boomerangs to spread across Australia. The material that early Polish boomerangs are made from is mammoth tusk. Another tool that is used during this time is the convenient bow and arrow. This is concluded from drawings located within sites in Spain, the Sahara, as well as in Northern Africa. In Northern Africa, archers can be found within various drawings. What appear to be the tips of arrows are also uncovered. The exact origin and earliest date of the bow and arrow is still fuel for a debate.
